  • 1 packmedium-firm tofu
  • 1 cuptapioca starch
  • 3 tbspvegetarian oyster sauce
  • 2 tbspsoy sauce
  • 1 tbspsesame oil
  • 1 tbspsugar
  • 6 clovesfresh garlic
  • 1 tbspsesame seeds
  • optional red chili
  • oil for frying
  • cilantro for garnish

Instructions

Lightly press the tofu with a paper towel to dry the edges, cut into cubes, and coat thoroughly with tapioca starch

Let the coated tofu rest for 5 minutes so the starch sticks

Heat oil in a pan to medium-high and fry the tofu for 3-4 minutes until crispy and golden brown

In a separate bowl, mix the vegetarian oyster sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, and sugar

Grate in the 6 cloves of garlic, and add the sesame seeds and chopped red chili (if using)

Drizzle the garlic sauce over the fried tofu and garnish with cilantro
